# Approval Gates and Evidence Register

Two controls that keep an automated business honest: **gates** decide what may
happen without a human, and the **register** records what actually happened.
The register template is `03-evidence-register.csv`.

## Permission model

Give every automated step one of three levels. Write the level next to the
step in your workflow map.

| Level | Meaning | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| **Auto** | Runs without review. Reversible, internal, no money, no public voice. | Deduplicating leads, tagging, internal reminders, drafting (not sending) replies |
| **Review** | A named person approves each item before it goes out. | Customer emails, proposals, refunds under a limit, social posts |
| **Owner only** | Only the business owner can approve. | Price changes, refunds over the limit, new payment rails, partner contracts, anything legal |
